Hitlist Season is NOW: Choose GOLD!
As we’ve seen this summer in Paris, every high-performing athlete has their own way of preparing for their event. Did you know that white-tailed deer have their own kind of marathon each fall? We call it the rut, but it’s something that ends up killing many bucks that are not prepared to make it to the finish line.
Think of your target buck like an elite athlete. If you want your bucks to be well prepared for the upcoming rut, NOW is the perfect time to start. It’s a buck I call Funky. Every one of his forks got deeper from last year, and he added a lot to his frame. As bucks finish off their antler growth, they start to focus more on body building, or in this case, re-building. Bucks rob their skeletal system of nutrients in order to grow their antlers, so it’s the perfect time to feed so they can undo the osteoporosis that has occurred in their skeletal system.
