CRUSH Amazin’ Grains
Description
Description
With its ability to be planted very late in the growing season, this plot truly is Amazin’! It has a blend of 5 different annual seeds that are all highly attractive and nutritious to deer. Being an annual, Amazin’ Grains has more energy for germination as compared to perennial varieties.
This plot grows very fast and can be hunt-ready in as little as 2-3 weeks. Works great with broadcast seeding but can also be drilled to a maximum depth of 1 inch. Planting into a weed-free, even seedbed will increase productivity of this plot.
For optimal results, plant at least 4 weeks before average first frost, but we have grown viable research plots right up to the average frost date. Here is a handy frost calculator if you are uncertain about frost timing in your area: https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates
Time your planting so there is a good soaking rain within 10 days of planting. This will ensure timely germination and prevent seed loss to turkeys and other birds. We recommend having soil pH between 6.0-7.5 for this product. Without a soil test, we recommend putting 75 lbs of 13-13-13 per ¼ acre.

GREAT NURSE CROP
Amazin’ Grains works as an excellent nurse crop when planted together with Pro Clover, Clover Plus Alfalfa, or Holy Clover. It will protect the young seedlings so they can establish properly, and the following spring it can be sprayed, mowed, or crimped to allow the perennial seeds to flourish.
